Top Score for Food Hygiene Standards at Clandeboye Lodge

The Clandeboye Lodge was awarded an "Excellent" score for food safety and hygiene standards, the highest score awarded by the North Down Borough Council to any hotel in North Down.
Ards and North Down Borough Councils have published a star-rating system, based on the Food Standards Agency Pilot scheme, on hygiene standards in hotels in their areas.
The published hygiene standards relate to routine food hygiene inspections carried out by Environmental Health Officers. They have been scored using the risk scoring methods contained within the Food Standards Agency's Food Law Code Of Practice and are subject to consistency reviews.

Simon King and David Myers, the Hairy Bikers, stayed at the Clandeboye Lodge whilst filming the Northern Ireland search for Britain's lost recipes. According to Si and Dave " the fantastic welcome, food and hospitality made our stay very relaxed and enjoyable".
